Subject: response for a walmart post
Security: Public
hey everyone,
i am sooo excited that i received a response from a walmart troll. i posted this blog a looong time ago and now someone has responed. i posted their response with some of mine.

djsquared

Hello,
I recently saw your blog and would like to encourage you to take a step back and really examine what this movie tells you and what it dosent tell you. Walmart does pay their employees on average a dollar below the national average for retail sales workers, that one dollar. The national average for retail is $9.50 walmarts average is 8.50$ and hour. Thats 40 dollars a week or about 1500 dollars a year after taxes, that not a huge difference. Also, the film does not mention the fat that these employees are not forced to work at walmart, just like people who work at mcdonalds are not forced to work there. Last year the average application pool for a opening walmart was 8000 applicants for 554 jobs. Obviously the people applying to walmart are not that concerned with the lack in pay. And now for the most disturbing fact that this movie leaves out. The movie attacks walmart for making healthcare unaffordable and forcing its employees to apply for medicaid. The movie states that 5% of walmart employees are on medicaid. This is ONLY 1% point above the national average for retail employers which is 4%. Also the movie does not point out that Walmart for many, is responsible for providing low income, blue collar working class famalies low prices. The american populations on average per year saves 200 billion dollars by shopping at walmart as opposed to other stores with higher prices. Walmart is no saint of a company but they are no worse than any other large corporation in america. Dont be ignorant, do some research before you back a documentary.

ok let's take a look at your response and by the way it is going to be one long response:

"Walmart does pay their employees on average a dollar below the national average for retail sales workers, that one dollar."

ok, what is walmart's revenue compared to the average retail sales? what walmart pays is called minimum wage. walmart makes over ten, TEN, 10, and in case you missed it, TEN billion dollars in profit a year. also, there have been many lawsuits settled, look them up yourself, where walmart has not paid employees: time worked and overtime. since you are about statistics, please average in the amounts not paid and then we go way below the "national average." am i correct on this?

"The national average for retail is $9.50 walmarts average is 8.50$ and hour."

do you know, am i am sure that you are a walmart troll, that when walmart averages it's wages per hour that they include management's salary? sooo, when they average all of the slaries, included are all of the six figures that all of management makes. plus the unpaid hours and overtime.

"Also, the film does not mention the fat that these employees are not forced to work at walmart, just like people who work at mcdonalds are not forced to work there."

actually, the film, that would be fact not "fat," mentions that when walmart wipes out all of the businesses from a small town this is the only place that someone can get a job.

"This is ONLY 1% point above the national average for retail employers which is 4%."

ok, when walmart is the second largest employer next to the federal government how do these stats apply? do not apply them to the national average, the national average is just that, the number of employees in the us. for an accurate number of people take the number of employees that walmat has and apply it.

"The american populations on average per year saves 200 billion dollars by shopping at walmart as opposed to other stores with higher prices."

wrong and ridiculous $200 billion. if your are not a troll, then you mixed up mommmy and daddy's conversation. please show me your source.

"Walmart is no saint of a company but they are no worse than any other large corporation in america. Dont be ignorant, do some research before you back a documentary."

actually, i have done research and i will stick to my original post. tell you what, if you want, i host a radio show and i would love for you to be on it. respond to this and i will give you an email address that we can exchange phone numbers for you to be on my show. what leads me to believe that your are a walmart troll.... is the fact that you do not address the taxpayer subsidizing the building of walmarts, the sweatshop issues, and all of the research done on the corporate welfare that walmart exploits. i think that true ignorance begins with your response.

what's up everybody,
djsquared has not posted in a long time. today i will discuss the walmart movie. i am honored to have teamed up with the San Diego Indendent Media Center, http://www.sandiego.indymedia.org, in screening Robert Greewald's newest documentary titled, "WalMart: The High Cost of Low Prices." this is the same cat that did Outfoxed. for all of y'all that haven't heard of this movie it is being screened grassroot style across the nation. please visit http://www.walmartmovie.com to check out all the stuff and local screenings. walmart is evil and there is a campaign to bring out the truth about all the shit they do and how the workers pay dearly and we do as a society. check out http://www.wakeupwalmart.com to see what is up. this website will offer a bunch to people that want to participate in the campaign. sign up to adopt a walmart or site fights. might as well throw in www.walmartwatch.com for more info on one of the most evil companies to ever exist. evil because they don't respect anything. they don't respect the workers, gender, race, environment, they just want profit. might just do things in the future focusing on certain subjects. don't know yet. if anyone decides to go to a screening, please bring a friend. everyone knows someone that shops there and doesn't care. watching this movie can make a difference, but by becoming involved in the campaign, we can send a message to the fascists that run the company/country that we will not stand for this. it is not right and change needs to happen. quoting a speaker at last night's event, "the workers are scared." they have no voice and we need to step up and be their voice. think about it.

peace,
djsquared

i don't know what to say

first we have this: http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/10/28/business/shell.php

then this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051029/pl_nm/energy_congress_dc

the fact that the bushies are in the pockets of the oil companies + the fact that people still defend him and ignore the truth = minorities, poor whites, elderly, dying in hurricanes, starving and coming this winter freezing to death. gas prices are still rising with natural gas prices being predicted to be at record highs. some estimates are that some bills will be possiby reaching $1,000 per month for some people this winter. for the elderly this will mean how would you like to die this winter? no heat or no medications. but i feel better knowing that the stockholders and ceo's of exxon/mobil had a record quarter. way to go guys!!!

i'm pissed so see y'all,

Subject: chief justice...nothing chief nor justice
Security: Public
hey yall,
well today the senate confirmed roberts as the chief justice. sorry for no caps, but i am done with them. anytime there is a conservative added to the supreme court WE ALL should be worried. this is how i will now use caps. we traded one for one...neo con that is. so this worries me, but does not alarm me. what alarms me is that twenty two out of forty four democrats vote for roberts. although they do not have the majority, why oh why would they vote to confirm him? http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/29/roberts.nomination/index.html even outnumbered, they should still be fighting. the roberts fool, didn't answer questions leaving people to wonder where he stands on certain issues. with the bushies, our rights are in question

the next confirmation will be the one that the dems in the senate better fight for. if another conservative bushie is confirmed we can all kiss our rights to anything good bye, adios, you get the picture. the bushies have ignored the constitution, surpressed the voice of the people, and let people of color die. they have no concern for the people. they took the last two elections, so we have known that they have never believed in the rights offered to the citizens of this nation. the bushies know that they need to have a court that will support their policies and the policies of future neocon administrations. so my people, please go to sleep tonight and rest, because the end is near and we will need our strength for the revolution to come. there is one coming and we need it.
peace,

Subject: More Katrina
Security: Public
Hey everyone, It has been awhile since the blogging bug has bit. Actually, the bush administrations lack of anything is too intense, so immense that there is just too much stuff happening. Check out two of my past shows on Katrina. http://radio.indymedia.org/news/2005/09/6593.php and http://radio.indymedia.org/news/2005/09/6715.php. I was driving to work this morning and while listening to the Stacy Taylor show, heard locally on air america. While waiting for a comercial break to finish, I decided to listen to the always arrogant, always asshole, and always racist right wing talk show host, rick roberts. I believe that I should listen to the other side to hear the spin, lies, and the neocon kool-aid. This always tends to upset me and inspires me to write on the blogitty blogitty. Today no different. Katrina is still in the media and should be reported on. The worst natural disaster to strike the us uncovered the bushies inability to protect its own citizens. Also, uncovered was the racism, color and class based, that has always existed in this country. The media is currently covering this, but not like it should be. What viewers get is the watered down version. The version meant to distract and divert the attention of the american people. There is still an invasion in Iraq and there are two seats up for grabs on the supreme court. john roberts doesn't like to answer questions, but bush is in the Gulf Coast. I don't know why people don't get it. Now back to rick roberts. What his show was dealing with was what I believe will be the next neocon phase dealing with Katrina. The shifting of blame. Let's be honest, this was all due to the bushies. They cut funding, the sent troops trained for hurricane disaters to the invasion, and they just left people to die. roberts is now calling the Mayor, Ray Nagin, the "town clown." roberts focused on Nagins "lack" of experience. roberts went down a list and ended it with "Nagin was elected mayor and then people died." What roberts and his talking points robots do is try and repeat lies so that the kool-aid drinkers believe it is the truth. Why didn't roberts look at former fema chief brownies resume? Here is why: http://www.arabianhorses.org/about.asp This is the organization that brownie was fired from. his main job was to set up and organize horse shows. If brownie can't organize a horse show, how is he going to organize fema and mobilize help that was and still is needed? What about homeland security leader chertoff? Former lawyer is in charge of homeland security which has swallowed fema. How will an attorney ensure "that emergency response professionals are prepared for any situation. This will entail providing a coordinated, comprehensive federal response to any large-scale crisis and mounting a swift and effective recovery effort." (Taken directly from the department of homeland securtiy website http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/display?theme=63). These two men have no experience, the only thing that they have in common is that they are connected to bush. Then a caller on his show stated that there is racism, but it is reverse racism. Nagin was voted as mayor because of his skin color. The large black population elected a black mayor and this is the only reason he won. roberts then stated that people like Nagin, Jesse Jackson, and Maxine Waters like to ignore education in low income areas. By keeping the constituents "dumbed down," roberts exact words, they are able to stay in office. roberts stated that if people of color were more educated that there would be no need for people like Nagin, Jackson, and Waters. Sorry rick, if all people were educated there would no need for people like you. Reverse racism is not what is happening. It is just racism. bush left people to die. Black and white and the main thing is that they were all poor. Nagin did react and trusted the bushies when they said they would help. It was five days before anyone reacted. Listen to this interview of David Perez, a san diego businessman, that has personally helped the hurricane victims. Yes rick, you stated that Katrina hit other parts of the the country, but what you failed to state is that they are being ingored also. Here is the interview http://www.am1360klsd.com/timages/page/media/KLSD_David_Perez.mp3

So this is what I will leave you with today. The right is now trying to put the blame on the Mayor and on the residents themselves. Basically what rick roberts said was that the residents of New Orleans were too stupid to vote for their own best interests and this is why they died. rick roberts you are the idiot for lying and defending a president and administration that could not look beyond class and color and left people to die.

Peace,
DJ Squared
